About Magpie
Maya and Tessa sit in a parked car at the bottom of Ben Dubh in Loch Lomond and prepare to scatter their father’s ashes. Neither of them are ready to confront the reality of what they are about to do. The car becomes a pressure cooker for long held tensions, unresolved griefs and buried truths. Navigating the unpredictable terrain of love, loss and environmental guilt, the sisters are forced to confront not just the weight of death but the fragility of life. Intimate, raw and darkly funny, this story captures the messiness of saying goodbye.
