Agnes Allan Bursary

Agnes Allan was a teacher, passionate about inclusion, and this bursary scheme exists to offer support to students to participate in the performing or production arts.

The Agnes Allan Bursary provides some support to students who may require financial assistance to take part in a short course in dance, drama, music, production or screen.

Anyone who wishes to take part in short courses and faces a financial barrier to do so can apply for bursary support to help meet the cost of tuition fees.

Changes to Agnes Allan Bursary Application Process

We have recently reviewed how we receive and administrate applications for the Agnes Allan Bursary with the intention of improving our processes.

There will now be set deadlines throughout the year for applications to this bursary.

Students are required to complete an online form giving as much information as possible to support their application. A link to this form can be found at the bottom of this page.

At this stage students should also start to book a place on their chosen course so their interest is registered. You can find a link to the course application form on the webpage which describes the course. This form needs to be completed in full and a monthly payment plan should be set up. Any refund due will be paid on the award of your bursary.

Deadlines for applications to the Agnes Allan Bursary in 2019 are:

Thurs 30 May 2019
Thurs 4 July 2019
Thurs 5 September 2019

Following the deadline, a panel will meet to consider each application and decide how the funding available for each quarter of the year should be allocated to applicants. Please note, our funds are limited and making an application does not guarantee that bursary will be offered.

Students will be contacted within 2 weeks of the deadline with the outcome of their application and asked to formally accept any bursary offered in writing. Following this a ‘promotion code’ will be issued, allowing the student to book their course at the reduced fee.

Please note that you can apply for any class or course which starts after the deadline date but we advise students do this as soon as possible to allow for the turnaround of applications.

If the course you are applying for starts before the next deadline, please contact on the email below to let us know and we will endeavour to process your application in advance of this date.

If you have any questions about the application process or require support in accessing our application form in an alternative or accessible format, please contact us on 0141 270 8213 or shortcourses@rcs.ac.uk and we will be happy to help you.
