Short Courses exists to widen access to the performing arts taught within the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
We offer a inspiring and varied programme of weekly classes, short study weekends and summer schools for adults throughout the year, suitable for beginners, right through to those thinking about applying for further education in the performing arts and a possible career in the creative industries.
Hundreds of adult learners from across the world engage with Short Courses each year, either for professional development or simply to learn new skills and try something fun.
Our courses for adults start at age 16+ and include weekly evening classes, short study courses taking place over a weekend and audition and interview preparation courses for people who want to apply for conservatoire education and want some further development in advance of their audition/interview.
In July and August we offer a wide selection of summer schools for adults who wish to enhance skills and techniques, learn from internationally-renowned lecturers and connect with like-minded people.
As a student at Scotland’s national conservatoire, you will benefit from studying in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to realise their aspirations, develop their skills and explore their potential.
