Short Courses

Short Courses exists to widen access to the performing arts taught within the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

We offer a inspiring and varied programme for adults age 16+ which include Weekly Classes, Short Study Courses, Audition and Interview Preparation, Credit-Rated and Summer Schools throughout the year. Our courses are suitable for beginners, right through to those thinking about applying for further education in the performing arts and a possible career in the creative industries.

Hundreds of adult learners from across the world engage with Short Courses each year, either for professional development or simply to learn new skills and try something fun. We offer options for people who want to apply for conservatoire education and want some further development in advance of their audition/interview.

Credit-Rated Short Courses are designed in accordance with the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). By studying a credit-rated short course, students can benchmark their learning against national standards, and credits may be used towards further education programmes at many institutions throughout the world.

In July and August we offer a wide selection of Summer Schools for adults who wish to enhance skills and techniques, learn from internationally-renowned lecturers and connect with like-minded people.

As a student at Scotland’s national conservatoire, you will benefit from studying in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to realise their aspirations, develop their skills and explore their potential.
