Benedicte Seierup
Benedicte has worked as an actor, deviser, movement tutor, director and movement director before joining the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as a Lecturer in Movement in 2009 on the BA Acting Programme.
Originally from Denmark, Benedicte trained as an actor at Guildford School of Acting and then under Jacques Lecoq at L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. She also studied at the school’s scenography department Laboratoire d’Etude du Movement (L.E.M)
She still has strong connections with the Ecole Lecoq. In 2011 she returned as a student for a L.E.M workshop and she has assisted Paola Rizza (current teacher at Lecoq school) in Workshops for the BA Acting Students for several years.

Benedicte is also module co-ordinator of New Work, mentoring the BA second years in creating original pieces for Enquête (Student-led investigations) and the On The Verge Festival.
She has worked for many years with Lucien MacDougall and together they have written and devised four plays together, their favourite being The Nose (After Gogol).
Movement Directing work with Dominic Hill at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow includes: A Christmas Carol (2014 & 2018), Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Crime and Punishment & Pinocchio.
Benedicte also directs the RCS Actors for the annual Sam Wanamaker Festival at the Globe theatre in London.
