Claire Haslin

Woodwind and Brass Collaborative Pianist; Lecturer in Collaborative Piano; Coach and accompanist for Vocal Performance
Claire is a Lecturer in Piano Accompaniment for the MMus course, a coach and collaborative pianist in both the Vocal Performance and Woodwind Departments, a coach for the BEd Ensembles module, and a tutor and mentor for piano pedagogy students participating in the IVP Masters course.

Claire Haslin enjoys a busy career as a collaborative pianist with instrumentalists and singers, including in chamber music recitals for music societies throughout Scotland, performing regularly as a member of Trio Ecossaise, and in a duo with baritone Phil Gault. Originally from Glasgow, she studied at RCS (then RSAMD) before continuing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Subsequently she was a staff repetiteur and music director at Scottish Opera, and has played orchestral piano for them and also the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She has been a Vocal Coach on ‘Vocal Inspiration’ and ‘Art of Song’ courses, and is a staff accompanist & coach for the Scottish International Flute Summer School and Oxenfoord Summer School.

Claire is a Collaborative Pianist for the Woodwind & Brass departments.

Other teaching and coaching commitments at RCS include Lecturer in Collaborative Piano, coach & accompanist for the Vocal Performance department, and Lecturer in Piano for RCS Junior Conservatoire. She also teaches and accompanies at the Music School of Douglas Academy, and accompanies for NYCOS residential courses and concerts.
