Lecturer in Modern Ballet; contemporary ballet technique, repertoire, pas de deux, virtuosity, solos

Diana currently teaches the BA Modern Ballet Students Contemporary Technique, she also teaches and coaches Contemporary Repertoire, the choreography module and is a choreographer for the final graduation performances. Diana is also a qualified instructor and teaches the students in the Gyrotonic Expansion System.

Diana is Australian, she trained as a dancer in Australia and has worked and toured throughout. She moved to London in 1996 and worked as a contemporary dancer; she toured and danced with Richard AlstonMark BruceJeremy JamesSiobhan DavisRafael BonachelaPaul DouglasJoanne Fong, and Sarah Warsop before moving to Scotland to join Scottish Ballet as a Soloist.

Diana danced many roles under the Artistic Director Ashley Page. Diana danced in Page’s Acrid Avid JamThe Nutcracker (The Governess/Dame Mouserink), 32 CryptogramsNightswimming into dayRoom Of CooksRefurbished BehaviourThe Pump Room and Cinderella (Stepsister/Stepmother). She also performed in Alston’s Dangerous Liaisons (which she also performed as part of the Dance Umbrella Gala), Petronio’s MiddleSexGorge and Ride The Beast, Davies’ White Man Sleeps, Forsythe’s Artifact Suite (Mudwoman) and Workwithinwork, Spink’s Petrushka, Ashton’s Façade, Brown’s For M.G.: The Movie, Pastor’s In Light and Shadow, Meckler/Lopez Ochoa’s A Streetcar Named Desire and Martin Lawrance’s Run For It.

Diana is currently studying for a PG Cert Learning and Teaching in Higher Arts Education at RCS. Outside of RCS she is currently creating a choreography for the Cottiers Dance festival, funded by Creative Scotland working with High Heart Dance Company and Daniel’s Beard Musicians.

Diana received a Herald Angel Award for excellence for her performance of Page Works during Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005. Diana’s first choreographic work, Sirocco, premiered in Autumn 2006.She was also awarded the 2007 Peter Darrell Choreographic Award and her second choreographic work, Chasing Ghosts, was performed at the Peter Darrell Gala in March 2007 and as part of Scottish Ballet’s autumn season 2007. Diana also choreographed Lull for Scottish Ballet dancers, a piece that was commissioned especially for summer season 2008. Recently, Diana created a work for Ydance in 2013 that toured around Scotland.
