Dorine Sorber

Junior Conservatoire Lecturer, Keyboard

Dorine is active as a soloist and as a member of the piano trio ‘ZeNoBo’. She teaches in the Primary Instrumental Programme at the RCS Junior Conservatoire and at St Leonards school in St Andrews.

Dorine was born in Leiden (The Netherlands) and started playing the piano at the age of 7. A couple of years later she was accepted in the class of the Russian Professor Mikhail Markov (Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, Gnessine Institute) where she studied until 1999.

Afterwards, she studied with professor Youli Galperin in Paris, and with Yevgeni Moguilevski and Mikhail Faerman at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in performing arts, as well as a MPhil in piano pedagogy.

In 2002, 2003 and 2005 she was selected to participate in the Masterclasses in memory of Sergey Rachmaninov with Professor Viktor Merzhanov in Tambov, Russia.
