Karen has worked in a range of senior executive roles in government policy and funding, economic development, regulation, tertiary education and research, international relations and governance. She was the Chief Executive of the Scottish Funding Council for further and higher education from 2019 to 2024 and has served as a non-executive trustee in the culture and charitable sectors.
