Katherine is the Principal Flute of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Katherine regularly appears as a concerto soloist with leading orchestras worldwide and performed with the New York Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National, Halle, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Helsinki Philarmonic and English Baroque orchestras. Katherine worked with the London Philharmonic, BBC Scottish, Royal Philharmonic and London Symphony orchestras.

She won a full scholarship to study at the Julliard School in New York. She was a prize winner at the Royal Overseas League Music Competition, the Young Concert Artists International Competition in New York and a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year for three consecutive competitions. The Royal Philharmonic Society awarded her the Julius Isserlis Scholarship for woodwind.

At age 21, she was appointed Principal flute with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She has appeared at major international festivals as a concerto soloist and recitalist, including the Cheltenham International Festival. She has given live broadcasts on Classic FM, BBC Radio 3, and BBC television.
