About
Louis Jaffa is an ambitious, versatile actor and multidisciplinary artist whose work spans theatre, film, writing, producing and directing. Born in London, he graduated with First-Class joint honours in English Literature and Theatre Studies from the University of Glasgow, where he was an active member of Student Theatre at Glasgow (STAG). As an undergraduate, he performed in Titus Andronicus, Boudica, and Romance Peninsula, later serving as STAG’s Social Convenor, overseeing over twenty productions and two festivals.
A self-described “theatre geek,” Louis began performing at a young age and has trained in martial arts since the age of ten. He starred in three gold award-winning productions at the Welwyn Garden City Youth Drama Festival and, at sixteen, wrote As We Know It, a satirical play shortlisted for the National Theatre’s New Views competition.
During the pandemic, Louis was a founding member of Write Club, a free online writing community that grew to more than 600 members worldwide and later received Arts Council England funding for its podcast. Since graduating, he has built a diverse creative portfolio, collaborating with organisations including the National Youth Theatre (NYT), Almeida Theatre, Questors Theatre, the National Theatre, and the London Film School. A graduate of NYT’s Epic Stages, he was selected as one of NYT’s ten Content Creators and also works as a facilitator, leading workshops in drama clubs, summer intake courses, and non-mainstream schools.
At the Almeida Theatre, Louis served as a Young Producer for Rebecca Frecknall’s Romeo and Juliet supporting new creative engagement initiatives. His screen work includes starring in two short films premiered at the BFI and voicing Kacey in the forthcoming animated series The Norman Show.
In 2025, Louis was accepted onto Creative Access’ Thrive programme and began his MFA at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he is a scholarship recipient. He recently made his directorial debut with Cairn, an independently produced short film created whilst undertaking a 100-mile journey through the Scottish Highlands, for which he served as director, producer, writer, actor and editor, navigating the project from development through post-production.
