Louisa Ross

Born in Leicester, Louisa trained at Parkewood School of Dance in Southampton and completed her vocational training at Central School of Ballet in London. During her third year at Central, Louisa performed with their graduation touring company Ballet Central. At 19, Louisa moved to Glasgow to join Scottish Ballet and enjoyed an 11 year dancing career performing in venues across the UK and Internationally. Louisa performed in many works including Darrell’s La Sylphide and Giselle, Ashton’s Two Pigeons and Scene de Ballet, Page’s Nutcracker, Cinderella (Stepsister), Sleeping Beauty (Pina, Red Riding Hood), Cheating Lying Stealing and Fearful Symmetries, Balanchine’s Four Temperaments, Rubies and Episodes, Davies’ White Man Sleeps, Forsythe’s Artifact Suite and Pastor’s Romeo and Juliet. During her career Louisa enjoyed working with the Scottish Ballet’s education department delivering dance workshops to schools and colleges across Scotland.

After leaving Scottish Ballet in 2010 Louisa studied with the Royal Academy of Dance and the University of Surrey and gained a first class BA (Hons) in Dance Education. During her studies Louisa worked as a freelance dance teacher teaching ballet to a variety of age groups and ability levels, from beginners to advanced, young children to adults. Louisa taught for Scottish Ballet’s Community and Associate programmes, the BBO Scholars, and for RCS Short Courses.

Louisa teaches Classical Ballet including daily ballet classes, pointe work and repertoire. Louisa has completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and teaching in Higher Arts Education with the RCS and achieved Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
