Shaun Newson

BA Musical Theatre Class of 2027

About

Shaun (He/Him) is an English actor from Cambridgeshire. He is a passionate actor-musician, specialising in drums and percussion, with skills in acoustic guitar, alto saxophone and songwriting. Shaun is a recipient of the RCS Trust Scholarship and recently took part in the Wise Children Drama School Residency with Emma Rice. Last year, he participated in an R&D week at the National Theatre of Scotland with Dundee Rep for The Snow Queen. He also recently played the role of Connor Murphy in the premiere of Dear Evan Hansen at the Edinburgh Fringe. In the rehearsal room, Shaun values collaboration and strives to create a positive and supportive working environment. He is particularly interested in devising and learning new skills, always looking for ways to bring these into his work as a performer. He is now looking forward to entering his final year of the BA Musical Theatre programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
