Sophie Passant
Class of 2026
About
Sophie was born in London, UK and started her vocational training aged 10 at Young Dancers Academy (now London Vocational Ballet School), under the artistic direction of Anna du Boisson. After 6 fulfilling years at YDA, she joined the BA Modern Ballet Programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2022. Sophie has thoroughly enjoyed her time at RCS and is grateful for the wonderful opportunities the course has provided.
In her time at RCS, Sophie has been able to grow both technically and artistically. In addition to the amazing coaching, encouragement and support from the faculty, this development has been enabled through the opportunity to work with choreographers including Jessica Fyfe, Nicholas Shoesmith, Mark Bruce and Christopher Bruce to perform a diverse range of works from Classical to Contemporary.
In her Graduate Year, Sophie has had the privilege of working with Scottish Ballet performing in their Winter Tour of The Snow Queen in theatres in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness. This has given her an invaluable insight into Company life and allowed her to grow as an artist.
Sophie is excited about embarking on the next stage of her career after graduating in July and feels that the BA Modern Ballet programme has prepared her well for this. She would like to say thank you to all of the staff on the BA Modern Ballet programme for their unwavering support and guidance. She would also like to thank her friends and classmates, which over the years have become a second family to her. She wishes everyone success for the future and will miss RCS greatly upon graduation.
