Circle of Betrayal

Short Study – Weekend Course

Overview

The Circle of Betrayal Experience is an immersive version of the popular social deduction games where a group must work together to uncover the traitors in their midst.

You will develop your strategic and teamwork skills, enhance your ability to read body language and build you investigative skills. The experience will allow you to inhabit a role and test your ability to improvise and work under pressure, to persuade (and perhaps even deceive) your fellow players in order to secure your win.

Some of the roles involved in the Circle of Betrayal may include:

  • Investigatorcan investigate one player each night and find out their possible role
  • Lookout – can watch one player each night
  • Sheriff – can find out if a player is suspicious each night
  • Jailor – can jail someone each night
  • Veteran – if they go on alert they will shoot anyone who visits them at night
  • Vigilante – can shoot one player in the night phase
  • Doctor – can heal one player in the night phase
  • Tavern Keeper – can block one player in the night phase
  • Framer (Evil) – can frame someone making them look suspicious to sheriff or investigator
  • Mafioso (Evil) – does bidding of godfather
  • Godfather (Evil) – orders kills
  • Jester (Neutral) – wins if the town votes them out
  • Executioner (Neutral) – has a target they need to get voted out. If that person is killed at night they become jester.
  • Medium – can communicate with the dead each night
  • Serial Killer – (Evil) – kills one person each night

With a variety of roles – there are parts for everyone. Join us for one-day in the Circle of Betrayal, where the only person you can truly trust is yourself.

Further Information

We want to ensure as many children, young people and adult learners as possible can access the performing and production arts education that is offered through Short Courses at RCS. Financial support options available for Short Courses include:

Agnes Allan Bursary

Agnes Allan was a teacher, passionate about inclusion, and this bursary scheme exists to offer support to students to participate in the performing or production arts.

The Agnes Allan Bursary provides some support to students who may require financial assistance to take part in a short course in dance, drama, music, production or screen.

Anyone who wishes to take part in our Short Courses and faces a financial barrier can apply for bursary support to help meet the cost of tuition fees.

James McAvoy Drama Scholarships

BAFTA-winning and Golden Globe nominated actor James McAvoy is committed to nurturing the creative potential of young Scots who experience barriers to access and participate in drama at RCS Short Courses.

James is a graduate of the BA Acting programme at RCS and Patron of the Junior Conservatoire of Drama. The Glasgow-born actor has funded the new James McAvoy Drama Scholarships to enable young people to experience the world-class drama training at RCS as he did.

The scholarship aims to support applicants who would otherwise find meeting the cost of tuition fees at RCS a barrier to accessing pre-Higher Education drama training at the Royal Conservatoire.

You can find more information about these funds on our Financial Support page.
