Overview
Conflict is the engine of all drama. That makes Stage & Screen Combat a fundamental skill for any professional actor. Violence is intrinsic to much of our storytelling. Being able to safely and capably portray violence for stage and screen can be both highly affecting for audiences, and fun & exhilarating for performers.
Fight Club is a new, weekly combat class open to all levels: experienced students can develop and fine-tune their skills, while newcomers are welcome to come and learn the fundamentals across a wide range of themes. This is a vital opportunity to establish a consistent training routine, allowing you to both broaden and sharpen your skills, no matter your level.
The class will include a vigorous warm up to get your heart pounding, followed by a focused exploration of one a huge range of topics. Over the weeks, you will discover new and novel applications of the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat’s nine weapons systems, as well as exploring current trends in action design.
Wear comfortable, supportive movement clothes, bring water and snacks. You will work hard, sweat, learn and have fun as you explore conflict.
