Vocal Technique: Performance (Online)

10-week Online Short Course

Overview

This 10-week online class take place on Teams and Zoom.

During this 10-week online course, students will combine their performance skills with vocal techniques to enhance and improve their performance ability. This is a unique class which connects the vocal technique to the performance elements of singing, allowing students the opportunity to explore acting through song, while ensuring safe and healthy vocal choices. The exploration of vocal techniques will compliment your acting choices while creating an emotional connection to the music and lyrics. Classes will consist of group work, as well as 1:1 opportunities.

Whether new to singing or an experienced vocalist, this course will leave you with an understanding of how to enhance your acting through song skills while making safe vocal choices to support your performance.

By the end of the course, students will explore:

  • How to engage with different acting and emotional choices through safe and healthy vocal techniques
  • How to care for their voice
  • A range of styles and emotions through song

The course will allow for group work, and time-permitting, 1:1 opportunities for feedback from lecturer and peers throughout. This course may be useful for those who wish to enhance their existing skills, pursue a pathway to further training, or build their confidence in their singing and vocal abilities.
