Young Ballet Company
The Young Ballet Company meets weekly to develop a young ballet dancer’s understanding of ballet repertoire and performance skills while creating work for performances throughout the year.

Overview
Students will rehearse at Wallace Studios where they will work as a junior ballet company. Each day will start with a technique class to focus the dancer’s mind and body in preparation for the rest of the day.
Following this, the Young Ballet Company will learn classical ballet and contemporary repertoire and will work with professional choreographers, enhancing the skills required to be a dancer in a company. Each dancer will also develop their own creative and choreography skills in response to tasks, stimuli and themes given throughout the session when working on new choreography.
During the year the company will create and rehearse choreography for multiple performance events and have the opportunity to work with guest artists to increase their skills and knowledge.
There are two levels in the Young Ballet Company course. Level 1 study on Sundays from 10am – 1pm, Level 2 study on Sundays from 1.30pm – 4.30pm.
This is an auditioned course open to all dancers from Primary 7 to S6 who have experience in Classical Ballet training. Dancers will be streamed to the appropriate level during the audition process.
