Connecting to RCS Wifi
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland has several WiFi connections available for use.
If you have any issues trying to connect to any of our WiFi connections, please contact ithelpdesk@rcs.ac.uk
Eduroam
Eduroam is available to all RCS staff, students, and guests with an academic email address. It can be used on both mobile and laptop devices.
To connect to eduroam, use the format: username@rcs.ac.uk and your usual password.
For mobile devices, download and install the GetEduroam app from your device’s App Store or Play Store, then follow the setup instructions.
For Windows and Mac devices, select eduroam from your list of available Wi-Fi networks and enter your login details when prompted.
The Cloud
The Cloud is our public Wi-Fi network, operated by Sky on behalf of RCS. It is available to anyone and can be accessed on both mobile devices and laptops.
You can register using either your RCS email address or a personal email address.
To connect, select _The Cloud from your list of available Wi-Fi networks. A web browser will open automatically, prompting you to sign in or sign up. Follow the on-screen instructions to create an account, then sign in to access the internet.
RCS Staff
This Wi-Fi network is only available on RCS issued laptops. The IT department will automatically configure your work laptop to connect to this network. Personal devices cannot be connected.
If your work laptop is not connecting, restart your laptop. Before logging in, select RCS Staff from the Wi-Fi list, ensure “Connect automatically” is selected, and then click Connect. Once connected to RCS Staff, login to your laptop as normal. Your internet connection should now be active.
