About Daybreak

Daybreak follows two interlinked storylines exploring Rory’s relationship to acceptance. The first storyline is memory-driven and chronicles the breakdown of Rory’s relationship with their Dad, as they discover and begin to actively inhabit their identity as a non-binary person. The second celebrates the value of allyship, through the character of Harper, who Rory ultimately learns they can rely on despite the defensiveness and fear cultivated by their father’s rejection.

The film asks you to question what it feels like to be seen, and highlights just how valuable that sensation can be.
