James McAvoy Drama Scholarship

We believe strongly that no one should face barriers to participation in the arts. We offer bursaries and scholarships to students who, for financial reasons, wouldn’t be able to take part in courses at RCS.

James McAvoy, a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, believes that the arts are for all. Since 2015 has funded the James McAvoy Drama Scholarships which are for anyone aged 25 and under, resident in Scotland, and who wants to take part in pre-higher Education drama training at RCS.

This scholarship programme aims to support applicants who would otherwise find meeting the cost of tuition fees at RCS a barrier to attending and since its inception, a great number of young people in Scotland have benefitted from its funding.

Ways to Support

As well as one-off and monthly donations, there are plenty of ways you can support the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Any and all support is greatly appreciated by us, our students, and our staff and helps ensure the longevity of the Conservatoire for generations to come.
