Innovation Studio is a resource for the RCS community that supports creative experimentation, collaboration, and interdisciplinary work. It seeks to unlock innovative work and potential across the Conservatoire, providing dedicated time and space to learn, grow, and play.

Current Opportunities
Innovation Studio Seed Fund
The Innovation Studio Seed Fund is dedicated to fostering the creative ambitions of RCS students and staff by providing seed funding to shape new and existing ideas. This funding helps to create space for play, experimentation, and innovation – where trying, failing, and refining concepts are all part of the journey.

Staff Micro Residency
Innovation Studio is excited to offer a 4-day micro residency at Cove Park for RCS members of staff to develop an area of their work or creative practice. This is an opportunity for participants to step away from their daily responsibilities and focus on an idea or project they don’t currently have space for, reflect on their wider practice, or plan for the future.

Pilot Report
Following the successful two-year pilot (2022-24), Innovation Studio is excited to publish a comprehensive report that showcases people, projects, and initiatives we supported throughout the pilot programme.
As we enter into the next phase of Innovation Studio, we will continue to maintain a ‘pilot mindset’. Innovation Studio will continue to evolve and adapt based on the needs and feedback from our community. Everything we have learned and continue to learn will inform our plans for a future Centre for Innovation at RCS.
