David Watkin’s Cello Suites named one of 2015’s top classical recordings

David Watkin’s recording of Bach’s Cello Suites has been named one of the top classical music recordings of 2015 by music critic and writer Kate Molleson.

Writing inThe Herald,Kate describes the recording as: “amajestic account of Bach’s six cellos suites…Poised and searching, informed, vigorous, eloquent, honest, joyous…”. Read the rest of Kate’s article online here.

Head of Strings, David Watkin, has received much praise for this recording, including winning a Grammophone Award earlier this year. David took up his teaching post at RCS just weeks after finishing this CD. As Molleson says in her article – “lucky students!”.
