Watch this magnificent prop come together – in fast motion!

Thanks to Nikcy Baillie, a second year Production Arts and Design student, who is majoring in prop making, for sharing this time-lapse video of her hard at work creating this beautiful monstrance.

Intended for the spring opera production, Dialogues des Carmélites, Nikcy took it home to complete and spent hours creating the finely detailed piece.

Nikcy says: “It took a long time to make the components. The star part was carefully cut out from mount board and some parts I moulded and covered entirely in Dutch gold leaf. I love RCS and miss not being there, like everyone. Our lecturers are amazing.”
