Welcome to this year’s student-led concert, Something Borrowed!

This concert aims to highlight the idea of ‘musical borrowing’ wherein each performance demonstrates an element borrowed from another musical genre or artistic practice. This is sometimes literal, as in taking inspiration from another instrument, time period, or genre, and sometimes more abstract, borrowing performance practices, interpretation, or ideas. Featuring students from the RCS string department, we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to this term and the music of composers new and old.
