Big Guitar Weekend returns for its 20th year!
A weekend dedicated entirely to the versatility, rich textures and expressive power of the guitar in all its forms. This anniversary year, we’ve brought together a fantastic line-up of international artists, esteemed faculty, returning alumni and exceptional emerging talent right here in Glasgow.
RCS welcomes the internationally acclaimed Lorenzo Micheli for a masterclass and headline concert, alongside captivating recitals by rising star Zoe Barnett and music from BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Samrat Majumder & Ian Watt. RCS Head of Guitar Allan Neave performs in the Fridays at One concert where he will welcome back RCS alumni to perform alongside him. This concert will also feature a specially commissioned new work for the festival, Arachne, by Jay Capperauld (Associate Composer with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra).
