Big Guitar Weekend returns for its 20th year!

A weekend dedicated entirely to the versatility, rich textures and expressive power of the guitar in all its forms. This anniversary year, we’ve brought together a fantastic line-up of international artists, esteemed faculty, returning alumni and exceptional emerging talent right here in Glasgow.

RCS welcomes the internationally acclaimed Lorenzo Micheli for a masterclass and headline concert, alongside captivating recitals by rising star Zoe Barnett and music from both Samrat Majumder & Ian Watt. RCS Head of Guitar Allan Neave performs in the Fridays at One concert where he will welcome back RCS alumni to perform alongside him. This concert will also feature a specially commissioned new work for the festival by Jay Capperauld (Associate Composer with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra).

The Big Guitar Weekend Course runs alongside the festival and provides guitarists of all abilities the opportunity to study with our world-class faculty at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It is open to guitarists from nine years of age to adult and is designed to support guitarists of all ages and abilities, including the most serious/advanced young pre-professional/professional guitarists in training.

Book your place on the course now!
