In this week’s Fridays at One concert, the RCS Wind Orchestra returns with a varied programme led by Conductor Mark Reynolds.

100 Years of Light, Gold and Soul features classic Wind Orchestra repertoire as well as contemporary music and themes. Holst’s Suite in E Flat is a cornerstone of the British Wind Orchestra repertoire, Whittaker’s Lux Aurumque provides a moment to breathe and relax. The concert ends with two major and important works in the Wind Orchestra repertoire with David Bedford’s iconic Sun Paint Rainbows on the Vast Waves and Omar Thomas’s ground breaking work inspired by the funk and soul film music of the 1970’s The low-down brown get down.
