Mikhail Bulgakov’s Master & Margarita (or, The Devil Comes to Moscow)
28 – 31 August
On a hot summer evening the devil steps into a park in Moscow and from here
on in, chaos ensues…
Professor Woland and his bizarre entourage—a redheaded witch, a mischievous cat, and a suit-wearing demon—are on a mission to expose the hypocrisy of the city’s literary elite and art scene. Set against the backdrop of Stalin’s regime, Master & Margarita explores the blurred lines between reality and the supernatural. Interwoven with themes of love and religion, Bulgakov’s satire questions the very nature of good and evil.
Welcome
It is my privilege to welcome you to our CCT Contemporary Productions.
These shows are performed by our MA as well as MFA acting students, directed by our directing students, and are the culminating creative project of the MA segment of our course.
Both shows, although contemporary, could be considered modern classics of international dramatic literature and are staged as well as enacted in wholly original, innovative, and personal fashion by our students.
