When the end of the world comes, there’s only one question on everyone’s lips – remember that episode of The Simpsons?

In this dark comedy, a group of survivors band together in the wasteland of post-apocalyptic America to collectively reminisce and restage half-remembered episodes of their favourite shows. Through the years, as a new status quo rises from the ashes, narratives evolve and transform, and humanity persists, despite the bleakest of circumstances. But how have our stories shaped us, and what do we hold on to when we lose everything?

Anne Washburn’s excellent, thought-provoking play weaves together themes of storytelling, collective memory, mythology, and television’s favourite four-fingered family, all to spellbinding effect.
