Join the newly assembled Lotus Orchestra for an evening of Transylvanian traditional music and a jazzy piano concerto. We’ll be exploring the musical voice of Romanian composer Pascal Bentoiu through his Piano Concerto No. 1, op. 5 and Transylvanian Suite, op. 6. The music, written at 23 years of age, and never before played in the UK, expresses itself through a sparkling vitality of rhythm accompanied by lush, romantic melodies and orchestral colours.
