Katherine Bryan is a Flute tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Katherine is Principal Flute of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She also regularly appears as a concerto soloist with leading orchestras worldwide, and has performed with, amongst others, the New York Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National, Halle, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Helsinki Philarmonic and English Baroque orchestras. Ms. Bryan has also worked with the London Philharmonic, BBC Scottish, Royal Philharmonic and London Symphony orchestras.

She won a full scholarship to study at the Julliard School, New York, and was a prize winnerat the Royal Overseas League Music Competition, the Young Concert Artists International Competitionin New York and a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year for three consecutivecompetitions. She was awarded the Julius Isserlis Scholarship for woodwind by the RoyalPhilharmonic Society.

It was at the age of just 21 that she was appointed Principal flute with the Royal ScottishNational Orchestra. She has appeared at major international festivals as concerto soloist andrecitalist, including the Cheltenham International Festival. She has given live broadcasts onClassic FM, BBC Radio 3 and on BBC television.
