Colin Broom is a composer based in Scotland. He studied Composition with Gordon McPherson at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama.

He has composed music for numerous ensembles and musicians including Maxwell String Quartet, Icebreaker, Orchestra of Opera North, Red Note, Tyrolean Ensemble for Contemporary Music and South Bank Gamelan. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC 4, Radio Scotland, Radio Magnetic and Radio Icebreaker.

Colin is Jazz Coordinator at the Royal Conservatoire, and teaches both in the Composition and in the Creative & Contextual Studies departments at the Royal Conservatoire.
