Dr Inch OBE retired from Glasgow City Council in 2010 where, as Executive Director for Development and Regeneration Services, he had had responsibility for a range of functions, including City Planning, Property Development and Management, Economic and Social Initiatives, Transport Policy, Housing Investment and Capital Project Management.
He is currently Chair of Wasps Ltd (an arts property company), and is a Director of a number of organisations including Resilient (Scotland) Ltd,the EU Jessica Investment Board For Scotland, and Glasgow Film Theatre (where he chairs the Governance and Development Committees).He is a lay advisor to the Property & Estates Committee of the University Of Glasgow, and is a member of the Project Development Group of Glasgow Chamber Of Commerce.
He recently stepped down after several years chairing two small social enterprises Scotcash CIC (an ethical personal finance company) and DSL Business Finance Ltd (a business loans company).He was formerly Chair of Strathclyde European Partnership, Vice Chair of the Wise Group , and a Director of Drumchapel Training Trust, Dalsetter Business Village, The Lighthouse Trust, City Of Glasgow College, and Clyde Gateway Developments.
In 2010 he was awarded the Lord Provosts Gold Medal for Public Service, the Glasgow City Council Exceptional Achievement award, and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Award for Lifetime Achievement.In 2011 he was awarded the OBE for Services to Regeneration. In 2012 he received an Honorary Doctorate from Glasgow University in recognition of his contribution to the creative industries in Glasgow.
