Jamie Mackay (FHEA)

Head of Postgraduate Learning and Teaching Programmes and Academic Development

Jamie is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (then RSAMD) as a freelance tutor in scenic art in 1995. Attainment of the RCS Postgraduate Certificate and HEA Fellow status enabled Jamie to secure the role of Lecturer in Design and Scenic Art from 2009.

After playing a key role in the RCS Curriculum Reform process, Jamie was asked to design the MA Learning and Teaching (Gaelic Arts) which was validated in 2014, and then the MEd Learning and Teaching in the Performing Arts which was validated by the RCS and the GTCS in 2015.

In the same year Jamie was appointed as the Head of Postgraduate Learning and Teaching Programmes and Academic Development. In addition to leading the postgraduate Learning and Teaching programmes, Jamie module co-ordinates the core learning and teaching modules and leads the delivery of these, both in the online environment and in face-to-face sessions.

Jamie is currently working on the development of further pathways within the MEd programme, on an institution-wide CPD framework and on the development of CPD opportunities for teachers.
