Jane Hensey MEd, BA, DDA, FHEA, TQFE
Jane is a highly experienced Acting Lecturer and Director of students at all levels of training. She graduated as an actress from the RSAMD now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 1997 and was subsequently awarded a First-Class Honours degree in Literature through the Open University. After many years of developing her teaching practice, she was the first to graduate from the Masters in Education – ”˜Learning & Teaching in the Performing Arts’ programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Jane has taught and directed productions for Acting & Musical Theatre programmes across the UK for over 20yrs and has consulted on curriculum delivery and design for a number of HE and FE institutions
Jane is passionate about nurturing and developing the individual and she continues to explore ways of promoting health & wellbeing through training. In recent years she has been developing her own approach to actor training, blending Stanislavskian-based approaches with current psychological theories relating to emotional, social and spiritual intelligence.She has worked with drama school and university students across the UK in developing this work, which has been published in the ‘Stanislavski Studies’ journal.
In 2017 she was invited to present her research at the ”˜S-word’ symposium at the DAMU in Prague and she looks forward to building on this research in the future.’
