Mark studied Trombone and Euphonium at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama graduating with a BMusHons (Performance) and a PGDip (Performance). In his final year Mark was awarded the Robert McCreath Prize for the most significant contribution to the brass department over a period of study.

Mark spent 5 years working as a freelance trombonist with most of Scotland’s professional orchestras, before moving up to Aberdeenshire where he currently works as a Brass Instructor and Music Centre Coordinator with Aberdeenshire Council as well as being Trombone Teacher at the University of Aberdeen. Mark is currently a tutor on the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland and it very excited to have been invited to tutor on the NYWES course this Summer.
