Anna Mavromatidi was born in Russia.She studied the piano at the State Saratov Collegeof Music and the State Saratov Music Conservatoire, specialising in performance, teaching,accompaniment and chamber music.
In 1996 her family moved to Greece where Anna taught and performed extensively.
Anna’s further education took her to the RCS ( formerly Royal Scottish Academy of Music andDrama ) Glasgow , where she obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Performance (Solo) in 2001 and aMasters Degree in Performance (Chamber Music) in 2002.
Throughout her time at the RCS, Anna has been heavily involved with Chamber music.Shehas won numerous prizes and awards, including The John D Miles Prize (Accompaniment) and The Ian DWatt Award (Chamber Music). In 2001 Anna was a finalist at the International Chamber MusicCompetition HELEXPO in Thessaloniki ( Greece ).
Anna has extensive performance experience, with recitals in Russia, Greece andBritain.
Currently Anna teaches at Clifton Hall School ( Edinburgh ) and is a lecturer at RCS Keyboardand Collaborative Piano Department. She is also accompanist to Glasgow Philharmonic Male VoiceChoir.
Most recent performances include recitals at Edinburgh Society of Musicians, EdinburghFestival Fringe, Lent Fest ( Glasgow ), Glasgow West End Festival, Lerwick ( Shetland).
In August 2011 in collaboration with Oksana Mavrodii ( Soprano ) Anna recorded her first CD’Romantic Russian Songs’.
